Animatic to digital animation

Having storyboarded a fair amount of the audio, I am now testing out the final look. I really liked how the ink looked in a rough kind of way, and felt that it added character, and so scanned in some pages of ink washes to add texture to the digital version.
I have chosen to work digitally for the final drafts as I encountered some problems with the paper I had on hand and how it reacted to ink and water (not well). The paper became very thin and began to show up the grain. Traditional animation may not have been the most efficient solution either, and so I felt I should try out Photoshop again.

Before I started animating I needed to find the brushes that would most correlate with the traditional mediums I was using, and keep a note of them somewhere. The ones I found in the end seemed quite effective, but I was struggling to retain the loose lines of my storyboard. I found it even more difficult when drawing the same frames again and again while still trying to keep them similar. For these reasons, I feel a bit stuck in this project. I am still not sure of where to go from the current state of my storyboard, and don't think this digital format is working. I intend to take a break from this and work on my main animation project.
